Track 4: Innovations and Business Models

Innovations in information and communication technologies lead to changes in the economy and in society. First of all the influence of innovative technologies on the design of intra- and intercompany processes will be examined in the context of this track. Furthermore, new pathways to innovation management will be addressed, such as open innovation or generation of innovations through the ‘wisdom of the crowd’.

In addition, many companies are facing the challenge of developing new business models. This applies to IT and software vendors as well as to the social media industry. Additionally, the IT-based support for the development of business models and the mapping of business models onto IT systems will also be taken into account.

Likewise, the trend of cyber-physical systems as the intelligent interconnection between the real and virtual world is driving the creation of new system landscapes and demands a radical rethinking of today’s value creation architectures. Therefore the design and development of adequate business models is another focus of this track.
